Connaught student in West End debut!
Connaught School For Girls’ year 10 drama student Miah Baree has been cast in The Adventures of Pinocchio, in the West End. After auditioning through The British Theatre Academy she was chosen to perform in the musical after a rigorous audition process. This will be Miah’s first professional production and her debut performance on a West End stage. Miah’s passion for performing was sparked early on at Connaught, ‘I began to develop an interest in drama after taking Ms Brothers’ lessons in year seven’ says Miah who by year nine knew she ‘wanted to go into a career in the performing arts’. Ms Brothers, head of drama at Connaught, had this to say, ‘We are proud of all of our students who work so hard to achieve their dreams and proactively make opportunities for themselves, which is what Miah has done. In a future where a significant proportion of current jobs will become obsolete, many of our students and parents understand that it is Arts subjects that develop the creativity and interpersonal skills that will see our young people flourish.’ Miah will be performing at The Ambassador’s theatre from 26th July; we wish her luck.To see the full article in the newspaper please click the link:
